Beer spa

Is there anything better than a good soak and unlimited beer? I don't think so.

When I saw that Bruges had a beer spa, I thought, “that sounds like a tourist trap-kind of thing.” And also, “I’m totally going to make reservations for us there.”

Bath and Barley has a very nice spa where you can reserve a private room with one or multiple tubs. There’s a shower room that you use first and then get in the tub. There’s also a straw bed that’s a lot more comfortable than you might think.

The tubs have water, brewer's yeast, hops and barley — basically all the ingredients of beer minus the alcohol. They push a button and you have a beer whirlpool:

Next to the tubs are glasses and a tap and you can drink as much as you want.

And if you want to spend a little more, you can get a room with a beer sauna.

It’s not a cheap experience. One person and one tub is about 100 euros for an hour while two people and two tubs is 149 euros. But it was a very memorable experience that I’m sure we’ll be talking about for a long time.
