Love the tour and your new home. It looks like you have a lot of room. I watch HGTV International and it seems like a lot of those places aren't as homey and roomy.
Nice tour and nice place! We're a few months behind you, we just arrived in the NL a few weeks ago but in Haarlem. We're still in the breaking down cardboard and recycling all the IKEA and Fonq boxes. Nice to hear someone else made the move in their 50's, we're never too young, right?! I am so curious as to where you bought your beautiful lamps? I'm feeling overwhelmed with all the online choices and want to see what the lighting actually looks like before buying.
Welcome! I think every light and lamp came from IKEA. We didn't bring anything electrical over for obvious reasons. Haarlem is a fantastic little town. Would love to get together sometime when you are free. You can message me through Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/jeffrey.bruner.3
Thank you for the virtual tour. I was surprised by how spacious the apartment is. I'm just fascinated by everything you two are doing so thank you for sharing.
It is definitely larger than the average apartment here. We decided that would be the one thing we would spend a little extra on since we don't have to worry about stuff like car payments, insurance and gas.
Re: towel warmer, usually there is something that looks like a big dial/ knob with ticks or maybe numbers on it, probably on the bottom, just twist that and the warmer should go on.

It has a little programmable thing and the instructions are in Dutch :) Gas is expensive here so we try to use as little as possible anyways ...
