Love hearing about the bikes and the way of living there with the bikes. Guess it makes for healthier people too. Yes, soggy bottoms aren’t good.

Swapfiets has been great for us. I just swapped the exact bike you had over to an e-bike this morning to give that a try for awhile before deciding what to buy. So far, liking the e-bike! Hema is the place to get your basket and ties. And then as we learned this morning biking to Dutch class in a cold storm ... upgrade to a waterproof bag and water resistant gloves. But still figuring out the wet pants syndrome when biking in the rain, lol. Not fun to sit for 2.5 hours in Dutch class in wet jeans. At least everyone else was in the same boat?

The ebike is definitely appealing! Not sure I ride enough to justify the cost (either leasing or buying). Good luck with Dutch class! Our first attempt turned out to not be a great fit for our learning styles (will blog about that next probably) but we are going to give it a second go with a private tutor.

Yeah, we have to bike most places as we are a bit out of downtown Haarlem so it helps a lot here. Sorry to hear about the class not working out. We loved having a private tutor for German, made a lot of progress quickly. We feel very lucky to have found a great Dutch class with some wonderful students and a great teacher.
